Two triggers let you turn ad engagement into conversations: Comment on IG Only Ad and Reply to Ad. They work like the regular comment and reply triggers, except they watch your Instagram ads instead of your organic posts.

Connect Facebook Ads first

These triggers need read access to your Facebook ad accounts, so Cloziq can find your active ads. The first time you pick an ad trigger, Cloziq prompts you to connect.

This is a read-only connection. Cloziq uses it only to load your active ads and confirm they belong to your Instagram account. Approve the access and you come right back to where you were.

One heads-up Cloziq shows you: some Advantage+ or asset-feed ads do not reveal which Instagram account owns them. Cloziq still lets you pick those, with a warning, but if an ad is not actually yours, the trigger may never fire.

Pick your ad

Once connected, the Pick an ad sheet lists your ads. It explains what it is looking for as you browse: Cloziq wants an ad that delivers on Instagram only, and it checks the placement and, where Meta tells it, that the ad runs on the Instagram account you connected.

Each card carries a badge with the result of that quick check:

  • May be eligible means it passed. Cloziq runs the full check when you actually select it.
  • Unlikely to work means something in the placement or ownership looks wrong. You can still pick it, but expect it not to fire.

The list shows placeholder tiles while it loads, so a moment of empty space is just Meta being slow. If you switch to a different Facebook ad account, your current pick is cleared, since an ad from one account cannot be watched from another.

From there, the rest of the initiative is the same as any other: opt-in message, optional delay, and conversion. Reply to Ad does not require an opt-in message, since the person has already messaged you; Comment on IG Only Ad does.

Catching people who message you later

On a Reply to Ad trigger there is a switch called Also trigger on these keywords without the ad.

Here is the problem it solves. Instagram only tells Cloziq which ad someone came from for about a day after they open the chat. Someone who sees your ad on Monday and messages you on Thursday arrives with no ad attached, so an ad trigger on its own never fires and the conversation goes nowhere.

Turn the switch on and a DM matching your keywords starts the flow anyway, even when that ad link is missing.

The tradeoff is that the trigger is now doing double duty, so keep the keywords tight and specific to that ad. A keyword like "info" will catch everyday DMs that have nothing to do with the campaign. Something distinctive from the ad's own wording is what you want.

Tips

  • Connect your Instagram normally first. The Facebook Ads connection is an extra, read-only step just for ad triggers.
  • If your ads list is still empty once it has finished loading, make sure the ad is active in Meta and tied to the Instagram account you connected.
  • Ad audiences are colder than organic ones, so let a Sales Agent qualify them rather than sending a raw link. The extra questions pay for themselves.
