Cloziq works with Instagram professional accounts, which is Instagram's umbrella term for both Business and Creator accounts. If your account is a Personal account, you will need to switch it before you can connect. If you try to connect a personal account, Cloziq will tell you:

The good news is that switching is free, takes a minute, and does not change how your profile looks to your followers.
How to switch to a professional account
You do this inside the Instagram app, not in Cloziq.
- Open the Instagram app and go to your profile.
- Open the menu and go to Settings.
- Look for the account type option (often under a section like "Account type and tools").
- Choose Switch to professional account, then pick Business or Creator.
- Follow the prompts to finish.
Once your account is a professional account, head back to Cloziq and connect it.
Why a professional account is required
Instagram only lets approved tools read and reply to DMs and comments on professional accounts. That permission simply is not available on personal accounts, so switching is what makes Cloziq's automations possible.
If you are choosing between the two, Business is the safer pick: it is the type Instagram documents most thoroughly for messaging tools, and Cloziq's own on-screen message names it.
Tips
- If you just switched and Cloziq still does not recognize it, give Instagram a minute, then try connecting again.
- Switching is reversible. You can switch back in the same settings if you ever want to.
