How many agents can I create?
That depends on your plan; the number of live agents is one of the things plans differ on. Most people run a small number of focused agents rather than many. See Cloziq plans explained.
Can one agent sell more than one offer?
Each agent is tied to a single offer, so it stays focused on one outcome. If you sell several things, create an agent for each and point the right initiative at each one.
Do I have to write the whole conversation word for word?
No. You write the agent's opening message and the questions that matter, and the agent handles the natural back-and-forth in between: answering offer questions, working through objections, and steering tangents back on track. Your guardrails set the boundaries.
What is the difference between Close Sale and Book Call?
It is the goal you set on Basics. Close Sale agents work toward a purchase and discuss price openly. Book Call agents work toward a scheduled call, keep price for the call, and can send reminders if you use connected Calendly. Digital products always use Close Sale; services can use either.
Can I edit an agent after it goes live?
Partly. The name, avatar, and everything on the Automation tab stay editable live. For the sales flow, guardrails, offer, goal, or tone, unpublish first: initiatives using the agent pause, ongoing conversations continue on the old version, and you republish when done. See Publish, pause, and edit agents.
Does testing my agent cost anything?
No. Test conversations are free, do not count toward your plan's conversation limit, and test contacts never appear in your contact list or metrics. You get 100 test messages a day, resetting at midnight UTC.
Why won't my if/then rule publish?
Four things get caught. Two are wording: conditions on a written answer cannot use hedging words like indicates, suggests, implies, appears, seems, or reflects, because they ask the agent to infer an answer instead of checking one; and a comparison needs something to compare against, so an operator with an empty box is rejected.
Two are structural, and they are what you usually hit after reordering or deleting steps: a Go to Step action whose target step no longer exists, and a rule pointing at a field that is no longer attached to this agent. The second sends you to Manage Fields to reattach it or pick another.
You also cannot put a rule on a contact detail field like email or phone. See Building your sales flow.
Can my agent write in all lowercase?
Yes. On the agent's Basics tab, beside the tone presets, turn on Write in lowercase. The agent then sends its messages in a looser, all lowercase style. Links, email addresses, names, and the word "I" keep their normal capitalization, so nothing important looks broken. It works with any tone. See Create your first Sales Agent.
Why won't my agent publish?
Beyond the usual missing pieces, two checks are about writing rather than settings and catch people out:
- A qualification step must end on its question. Put any context in front, so the step finishes on the question mark.
- Every guardrail line must be specific enough to act on. A one or two word rule is rejected. Say what the agent must do or avoid, and when.
See Building your sales flow and Setting guardrails.
What does the Hold flow action do?
It keeps the conversation on that step instead of moving to the next question. Use it for the answer you are not willing to move past, like "I need to check with my partner" or "the timing is wrong".
The agent does not go quiet. It keeps talking with them at that step and answers whatever they raise. It just will not advance until either their answer changes or they say they are ready to move on. Once they have moved on, that same rule will not stop them again. See Building your sales flow.
Do I need a qualification step to collect the prospect's email or name?
Usually not. If your agent books calls in the DMs, Cloziq automatically collects the name and email at booking time, since they are required to book the call. If your agent sells in the DMs, Stripe requires the buyer's email at checkout, and that is the address used for delivery and receipts. Add an email or phone field only when you want that info for your own follow-up or lead forwarding; otherwise spend your steps on qualification criteria like budget, goals, and timeline.
Why isn't my agent replying?
The most common reasons, roughly in order: the agent is not published; it is not connected to a live initiative; the prospect has not tapped the opt-in button yet on a comment-triggered conversation; a Reply Delay is still counting down; you replied in that thread yourself, which pauses the agent for good on that conversation; the prospect asked you to stop, which ends the conversation silently as Disqualified; or the conversation was handed to you as Needs Human Intervention. See My agent isn't replying to DMs for the full checklist.
If a prospect says "I paid", why isn't the contact a Customer?
Because the agent waits for the actual payment confirmation rather than taking anyone's word for it. Once the payment lands, the status flips on its own. For sales completed on an external checkout, Cloziq cannot see the payment, so the status stays Awaiting Purchase.
Best practices
- Start with one clear goal and a short flow, then refine once you see real conversations.
- Give the agent a couple of strong disqualification rules so it spends time on real prospects.
- Test the awkward paths, not just the easy ones, before publishing.
- Spend your qualification steps on criteria like budget, goals, and timeline. Contact details for booking and checkout are collected automatically, so only add an email or phone field if you want it for your own follow-up.
- Check your Needs Human Intervention contacts daily; those are warm leads waiting on you.
