Most people never use up their sales conversations in a cycle. But if you do, here is exactly what happens and how to avoid any interruption.
If you reach your limit
The moment you use your last included conversation, three things happen:
- You get a notification telling you the limit is reached, with a link to upgrade.
- Your active initiatives pause automatically, showing a Paused badge whose info icon reads "Paused: Sales conversation limit reached", so you can see at a glance why they stopped.
- New conversations quietly do not start. Someone who comments after the limit is reached will not be picked up. Conversations already in progress are never cut off; they run to their natural finish.
Everything resumes when your usage resets at the next billing cycle, when you upgrade, or when overages kick in. After an upgrade or reset, resume your paused initiatives from the Initiatives page.
Staying on with overages
If you would rather never be interrupted, open Edit Overage Settings on the Billing tab and turn on Allow Overages. With overages on, conversations beyond your plan keep working, billed at a per-conversation rate, up to a Monthly Spend Cap you set. You pick the cap from a few presets or type your own, so the worst-case bill is always a number you chose. The same panel shows which card will be charged.
To see the per-conversation rate itself, look at the plan cards on the plan-selection screen, where every tier is listed side by side with its overage rates. The Billing tab shows your own plan's allowances rather than the rate card.
While overages are running, a Real-Time Billing panel appears with three figures: your current overage this cycle, how much room is left before your cap, and your current balance.
If your account is holding a credit balance, that shows on the overage card too. Credit can only be spent on overages, so if you have a balance while overages are switched off, the card tells you to turn them on to use it.
A note on trials
Overages become available once you upgrade from your free trial, so they are not part of the trial itself. If you hit the trial's limits, that is usually your sign the paid plan will pay for itself; Upgrade now on the Billing tab unlocks full limits on the spot.
Tips
- If you never want to be interrupted, turn on overages and set a cap you are comfortable with. Think of the cap as your monthly "surprise ceiling."
- If you are hitting your limit often, upgrading a tier is usually cheaper than steady overages. Compare the tiers on the plan-selection screen, where the rates are spelled out.
- Keep the Sales Conversation Limit Alerts notification category on, so the warning reaches you before the pause does.
